Who Would Read A Book?

Guy who the cops pulled out of the library is here at the bus stop. Really rowdy group on a nice warm summer night. 

Guy mentions not making it in to shelter tonight and having to get a room.  

Guy who got kicked out engages him, "What is it with you bums always having rooms everywhere? You're always talking about going to a room. Regular people earn $15/hour and $2 of it goes to people who don't work so they can have a meth party in a room".

He recognized me sitting at the stop reading and commented, "Who would read a book in the most beautiful city in the world? You would."

Correct.

Journal Entry, Laguna Beach

Good God - The drunks and mentally ill transients who hang around the Laguna Beach bus stop at night.  Guy in a sports jersey is yelling into his cell phone. I could hear him clearly half a block away:  "I'm a muff diver! I'm a muff diver!!!"

Federline Hat

Under Albert's influence, I purchased a Federline hat at Nordstrom.  He says he will get one too if he finds a cheaper one.

We ate at the Japanese place in ISC. When the waiter first approached, Albert told him, "I want a beer."

The waiter responded, "We have Sapporo and Asahi."

Albert: "I want a beer.

Good food, but a bit over-priced.

Next day: Shit - I missed the bus. It was a little early. I am usually at the stop early just in case, but I was too busy admiring my hat this morning.

Bus driver said, "That's a nice hat."

Coming home, we have a couple of real lively homeless guys discussing music:

"The Black Crows were originally called the Four Horsemen."

"NOooo - The Four Horsemen was a MOVIE!"

The one who is the drunker of the two is really loud and friendly.  Keeps referencing his age, "I was 29 when I first saw the Black Crowes. Great band.  I'd never heard of them until my brother told me about them when I was 29.  Great band.  Great great band.  I first saw them when I was 29".

He also says Aerosmith's singer is "Gene Tyler". He saw them when he was 36.
